Living 450kms apart in rural Victoria and New South Wales proved to be no obstacle to the entrepreneurial spirit of sisters Lisa O’Keefe and Stacey Clayton.
As the Founding Directors of Koolaman, they have created a truly priceless gift experience; and helped pioneer the Australian online retail industry along the way.
Back in 2007 when they created their bespoke fine jewellery business, e-commerce was in its infancy. Lisa and Stacey’s vision harnessed this new technology to establish an online business. In the process, they revived centuries-old artisan skills to create bespoke symbols of love.
Raised in the country, Lisa and Stacey have always been inspired by the down-to-earth work ethic of the land, the traditions of their families and the raw beauty of the Australian landscape. Their deep connection to the land can be found in their timeless designs and the raw beauty of precious metals that enshrine deeply personal moments of celebration.
It was Lisa’s home of Koolaman Station - a remote 29,000 hectare sheep and wheat property in south-western New South Wales – that inspired not only the brand’s name but the strong can-do country spirit that drives Koolaman to this day.
The brand is a reflection of all that Lisa and Stacey value – family, love, ageless design and enduring quality. “We design for those who not only seek rare beauty but also something that connects with their heart. To create a unique connection between the giver and receiver” – Lisa and Stacey
The Koolaman story is an uplifting tribute to the bespoke and handmade in a world of mass production. The act of stamping by hand, with all the delicate imperfections that add bespoke character, has been embraced across the nation and across oceans.
These exceptional women give voice to the love of mothers, sisters, grandparents, lovers. All whilst they work the land and raise their families; nurturing their six wonderful children.
Through Koolaman, the award-winning sisters connect with each other and with their growing “family” of customers.
Koolaman is a story with chapters yet to be hand stamped.
